Support small and micro-businesses in your Local Government Area through a partnership that delivers real value at no cost to Council. Successful Councils will receive face-to-face small business workshops in their LGA, allocated mentoring hours for local businesses and customised printed resources featuring Council branding.
What is an Australian Small Business Advisory Service Partner Council?
The Australian Small Business Advisory Service Partner Council Program gives selected Councils the opportunity to strengthen local business capability without needing to fund or build a new small business program internally.
Through this partnership, the Australian School of Employment will come to your LGA to deliver practical face-to-face digital workshops for small business owners. Local businesses will also be able to access individual digital mentoring, online learning resources and printed program materials customised with your Council logo for local promotion and community distribution. Workshops and mentoring can support businesses across practical digital capability areas, including digitalising a small business, social media and digital marketing, selling online, business software, AI and emerging technologies and cybersecurity and data privacy.
In return, Partner Councils help connect local businesses with the opportunity by promoting the program through Council channels and trusted local networks. This may include Council newsletters, social media, economic development contacts, business databases, local chambers and community networks, along with helping encourage businesses to register for workshops delivered in their region.
Following the workshops, Councils may also choose to help more local businesses access personalised support by funding or subsidising the $110 co-contribution fee for eligible small and micro-business owners in their region to receive up to 5 hours of one-on-one digital mentoring.
